Dedicated and committed to educational equity, Jubria Lewis has over twenty years of experience working in public education in Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Chicago. As the founding Head of School at The SEED School of Los Angeles County, Dr. Lewis has created innovative programming to serve college-bound students at California’s first public, college-preparatory, STEM-focused boarding school.
Dr. Lewis began his SEED career on the Foundation’s School Support Team. As Director of School Improvement, Dr. Lewis supported all SEED schools with school improvement initiatives and worked collaboratively with school leadership to establish ambitious student performance targets. Prior to joining The SEED Foundation, Dr. Lewis served as principal for eight years at a DC charter school.
Dr. Lewis earned a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Louisiana State University and a Master of Arts in Educational Administration and Policy from Howard University, and a Doctor of Education at Howard University. Dr. Lewis was a 2018 recipient of Prince George’s County’s Social Innovation Fund 40 under 40 Award for Education.
