HEAD OF SCHOOL | DR. LEAH SKINNER
Dr. Leah Skinner is an Atlanta, Georgia transplant by way of Los Angeles, California. Dr. Skinner has served heartedly as an educator since 2000. Dr. Skinner’s professional education began at California State University, Los Angeles where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Her advanced degrees include a Master of Arts in Education from Pepperdine University (Malibu, Ca.), a Master of Science in Educational Administration from National University (La Jolla, Ca.), and a Doctorate in Educational Administration from Argosy University (Atlanta, Ga.). Her expertise includes Curriculum and Instruction, Training and Development, Family Engagement, Trauma Informed Practices, School Operations and Building Culture.
Dr. Skinner is a mother of one son who she proclaims is “the love of her life”. In her role as Head of School, she is enthusiastic about fostering an environment of high academic standards, collegiality, commitment, and trust. One of her favorite quotes is, "Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think” ~Albert Einstein. She is extremely humbled and honored to serve as the Head of School for SEED Miami . Dr. Skinner believes in servant leadership, and she is looking forward to supporting and serving the staff, students and families of SEED Miami.
