As The SEED Foundation’s Chief Development Officer, Ruth Swanson leads efforts to expand SEED’s growing and vibrant community of dedicated supporters. Ruth brings twenty years’ experience leading development shops of varying sizes and structures in both non-profit advocacy and higher education; she has served in leadership roles at Milken Institute School of Public Health at the George Washington University, American University Washington College of Law, and the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University.
Ruth comes from a family of teachers and is excited to connect SEED’s stakeholders to the remarkable work of SEED schools and graduates. Ruth earned a bachelor’s degree in music business management from the Conservatory of Music at the University of the Pacific. She serves on the board of Crittenton Services of Greater Washington and lives in Washington, D.C. with a terrier mix dog, a Cornish Rex cat, and about 30,000 bees.
